Explore – Explain – Apply


Karplus (1977) proposed a learning cycle where students construct knowledge through guided inquiry, followed by content explanation and further application. Abbreviated Explore – Explain – Apply, this website offers possibilities for leveraging video as a tool during the the “Explain” phase, on the back-end the learning cycle, when the teacher assumes a more active role. Flip teaching is not a pedagogy, rather a technique that can be used in the context of inquiry.
